Dear Folks
I am pretty well settled but I don’t think our trade school will start until Monday. We have to get a few more clothes yet, some oxfords (low shoes) and some more white suits, some work clothes, etc. We have been getting pretty good food and we can go nights to a recreation building and get ice cream etc.
I got here all right. Had plenty of time. I ate my breakfast in Chicago. I slept like a log last night and tonight I am supposed to be a guard inside the building for four hours.
I feel pretty good now and we have plenty of hot water all the time and steam heat here.
I can’t think of much to say now. I am going to see if I can get what was in the mail while I was gone. So I will say goodby and will write soon.
With love,
Erwin Holmquist
