Monday afternoon (not exactly sure of date)
Dear Mother,
I was going to write this morning but I didn’t have time so I am writing now. Those people that picked us up at the bridge took us right to the gate. They even went out of their way to take us there and on the way down they bought us lunch and soft drinks. I have lined up a ride for next liberty already. A fella here has a car down here and I am going to ride with him to Grand Rapids.
We went through the Ford plant this afternoon. That is we (went) through part of it in the time we had. The plant is supposed to cover 12 sq miles altogether. I never saw anything like it. I will talk about it when I come home. Well I believe I will sign off so so long.
