Sun. 6:00 P.M.
Dear Folks:
Well I have a little time for a change. You know I flew every night except Friday night last week. I think I’m all finished with my night flying now.
Tomorrow I start flying P-40s in the morning and I will be flying th A-T-6 in the afternoon.
I started aerial gunnery yesterday. I bot in 1 hr. 5 min. of it. I didn’t have any guns. I was supposed to be using a camera but the camera didn’t work so all I did was make passes at the target.
We didn’t fly today but we had to go and learn about P-40s. There is quite a lot of procedures to learn. When I take that P-40 up I have to be right the first time.
I will leave for the island Sat. if I don’t mess up before then.
Well I can’t think of much to say. Not much has been happening out of the ordinary. So I think I will just close. It has been colder and it rained today.
I hope to be seeing you all in about 3 weeks. I’ll be really sore if I don’t get that 10 day leave.
I think I will get a little extra sleep tonight.
Yours truly,
Alva
