Dear Folks:

I guess I better write you again. I got a letter from Dort and Meredith the other day and one from Ma today. I got one from Aunt Hattie the other day too. Well folks we pull out of here next Thurs I believe. Maybe Wed. I don’t know where we will go. I hope we get out of Texas. It is getting too hot here. We changed to our summer uniforms today. Boy we all look so different. Reports are coming back of our upper class men who are washing out in primary school. Some real good boys wash out. I guess it is just a lot of luck if a person gets through. Some of the boys are getting worried already. I’m not worried any. If I get through, it’s okay. If I don’t, well I can take it. So I’m not worried any.

We shot pistols on the range yesterday. That was fun. They are having their group ??? tonight. There is only 3 of us here. One fellow is sick. We had drill competition between groups today. I think Group 13 won. We were given blanks to make out our wills on today. Maybe I will fill it out and send it with this letter.

I hear Chuck Dores has washed out. Tough luck. Boy my muscles are sore and I have a big ankle too.

Well folks I can’t think of much to say. When I get to primary I don’t know if I will have much time to write. I will do my best though. I got a letter from Murell too. I’ll have to write one to him and one to Pug yet before I leave here. Aunt Hattie too. Boy I didn’t expect those tires to go to pieces on my car. I hope the chicks are still okay. We have eggs for breakfast about every morning but I never eat any. I ate some about twice and that was enough (stale).

Well so long folks,

Alva

P.S. Write soon and lots.
