Dear Folks:

I’m back again. I’ll bet you folks are surprised to be getting so many letters from me lately, aren’t you? I sent my shaver home yesterday. See what you can do about getting that fixed, will you? I also sent Jim a bunch of pictures of planes. I thought he might like to see them. They are nice photographs.

I only had 20 min in the air today. I had 46 min yesterday but it started to rain soon after I came down so the rest of the boys didn’t get any time except one of them got 30 min. So I went last today and there was only a little time left for me. This was because there was some doubt about us flying today. We were an hour late getting started. We had to fly off the cement runway. Well folks by the time you get this letter I will probably have soloed. I hope so. A couple of fellows soled today but they had previous flying experience. I will be the first of the four boys that my instructor has I think. I expect to have my pre solo check tomorrow. If I don’t pull some bonehead tricks I will solo in the next day or so.

Well folks it is 9:30 and I will have to close. I shave at night because I don’t have time in the morning. I also have to shave at noon because we have a personal inspection at 2:00 every day.

Well so long folks,

Alva
