Dear Folks:

Well folks I had my instrument check Mon or Tues and passed it. I had my final check today. I think I passed this okay too. The check rider didn’t say whether I did or not. This was mostly an acrobatic check. I didn’t give him a very good ride. It was just fair. The one good think I did was a good slow roll. I have had 2 hrs. of formation flying. Boy that’s fun. I have 2 hrs. left. I probably will get them tomorrow. Then all I will have left is 2 instrument cross-countries. For these we have another cadet in the front seat as an observer. I have had one of these so far. I have 92 hrs. of flying in so far. I may get 100 hrs. and I may not. Boy oh boy it feels good to be almost through.’Well folks I had my instrument check Mon or Tues and passed it. I had my final check today. I think I passed this okay too. We finished our night flying Tuesday night. It was a 2 hr. cross-country. I almost got lost on it too. One fellow cracked up. He went through a fence at one of the fields. It has cooled off a little bit on the last few days.

Well folks I can’t think of much to say now. I’m sort of sleepy etc. I’ll try to write soon again.

So long,

Alva

P.S. My My what’s this I hear about Jim driving to Sunday School? I’ll bet he thinks he’s really somebody now. ha ha ha AB
