Thurs. 7:00 P.M.

Dear Folks:

Just time for a few words. I got a letter from you yesterday. It was the first I had got since coming here but I got a letter from Garnet today. So I guess the mail is starting to come through from Corsicana.

I don’t know how long I will be here. I say that because I don’t like my instructor one bit. His name is Lt. Wright. I went up 50 min. yesterday and 55 min. today. That instructor makes me so made that I just don’t enjoy flying anymore. I like the plane alright but I just can’t get along with that instructor. It has cooled off a little down here.

We have 1 hr. of Navigation a day and 1 hr. of Radio Communications. We have quite a lot of work to do outside of classes too.

On the flight line we have to keep busy all the time. In the first place we have to learn to find 56 different instruments and gadgets blindfolded in 3 min. We are supposed to learn these before we solo.

Red Skeleton was down here last night and put on a show out on the athletic field. He was quite funny.

We fly mornings one day and afternoons the next day.

Well I better close. I have a lot of homework to do. It’s 9:00 now. We had a lecture from 7:30 till 8:30. They keep us busy.

So long,

Alva
