The is a picture of the children of Jan Derk and Willemina Brummeler (first photo courtesy of Ernie Richardson, a descendant of Jan Albert Brummeler). Alberdina Brummeler Telder is in the front on the far right. She was the grandmother of Joanna Telder Holmquist. Sitting next to Alberdina is her sister Gerritdina. Gerritdina’s husband received a calling from a church in Michigan in the 1860s, and it is for this reason the family moved from the Netherlands to Michigan.
Photo taken in 1895 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and includes 8 of the 9 siblings, except Wilhelmina Antonia (easel). She remained in the Netherlands.
Left to right brothers: Gerrit Willem, Gerhard Hendrick, and Jan Albert.
Left to right sisters: Geesjen, Dietje Hendrika, Mietje Gertruda, Gerritdina, and Deintje (Alberdina) Ten BRUMMELAAR.
