Page 5 Murell’s Family History

Grand Dad William Clouse remarried in 1910 to Arvilla Moore Knight. Arvilla’s had two children, James and Ruth, ages 11 and 10. Ethel moved to Belding in 1913 to work as a baker in a boarding house for Belding Brothers & Company, silk manufacturers. Below is a picture of Ethel with two women she worked with in Belding taken in 1913.

The only tragic event I am aware of in 1920 was the death of William Clouse’s wife Arvilla. But that did not occur in the winter. She passed away in October.

I am not sure what two boys he is referring to here. Uncle Jim Taylor had a son James Harold Taylor who would have been about 9 years old at this time. So I am not sure who Murell is referring to.

We do not have a wedding picture of our grandparents. This picture of Ethel Clouse sitting with the flowers in a white dress may have been taken around the time she got married in 1914. Pearl and Covel Buskirk married in 1918. Sam Clouse married Elinore “Nellie” Ward in 1917.
