Regarding the house fire in 1930, I often wonder how many family treasures were lost in the fire at my Grandparents home. We have some old pictures and one of them has what looks like some burn marks on it. I wonder if they were in some sort of fire proof box or were in the basement because they definitely pre-date 1930.
Alva probably went to Stocking School or West Leonard School. If he went to West Leonard, he would have been in the same school as our dad (Erwin Holmquist).
